Link Block Pixel Events
You can track custom events when users click on specific links using the Pixel Event field in Link blocks.
How Pixel Events Work
In any Link block, you can set a pixelEvent value. When a user clicks that link, a Facebook Pixel event will be fired.
Important: All pixel events from link clicks are automatically prefixed with "click". For example:
- If you set
pixelEvent: "Spotify", the event fired will beclickSpotify - If you set
pixelEvent: "Newsletter", the event fired will beclickNewsletter
Dual Tracking
Linkertown sends pixel events through both:
- Browser Pixel - The standard Facebook Pixel JavaScript SDK loaded in the browser
- Conversions API - Server-side tracking for improved accuracy and privacy compliance
Both methods use the same event ID for deduplication, ensuring accurate conversion tracking without double-counting.
Event Deduplication
Each event is assigned a unique event ID that's used in both the browser pixel and Conversions API calls. Facebook automatically deduplicates events with the same event ID, ensuring accurate tracking even if both methods successfully send the event.
Example Use Cases
- Track clicks on different social media links (Spotify, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
- Measure conversions for specific call-to-action buttons
- Track which links drive the most engagement
- Optimize Facebook ad campaigns based on link performance
