Setting Up AWS SES

Before you can send emails through mailing lists, you need to configure AWS SES (Simple Email Service) in your profile settings.

Step 1: Add an SES Identity

Navigate to your Profile Settings and go to the SES Configuration section. You can add either:

  • Email Address - A single email address (e.g., [email protected])
  • Domain - An entire domain (e.g., example.com) which allows you to send from any email address on that domain

Step 2: Verify Your Identity

After adding an identity, AWS will require verification:

  • For Email Addresses: Check your email inbox for a verification email from AWS and click the verification link.
  • For Domains: You'll need to add DNS records (CNAME records) to your domain's DNS settings. The platform will show you the exact records to add.

Step 3: Configure DNS Records (Domain Only)

For domain verification, add the provided CNAME records to your domain's DNS. You can verify the DNS records are correctly configured using the "Verify DNS Records" button in the SES Configuration panel.

Step 4: Wait for Verification

Once verified, the identity status will show as "Success". Only verified identities can be used to send emails.
